But here's a little secret - we've been passionately providing a safe haven for abused and neglected dogs, fueled by our own dedication and resources for over 11 years! Now with our official nonprofit status, we're embarking on an exciting new chapter, and there so much awesomeness to come!
What We Do
At Kelaroo's Ruff Ranch, our unwavering mission is to provide a sanctuary of love and healing for severely abused and neglected dogs grappling with complex medical and behavioral challenges. Nestled within 15 acres of tranquility, we provide these resilient souls with a safe and loving forever home, where they can rediscover trust in human and embrace a life filled with happiness and fulfillment.
Who We Are
At Kelaroo’s Ruff Ranch, compassion knows no bounds. Founded by Kelly Williams, an Australian native whose lifelong affinity for dogs led her to the heart of Texas, the ranch is more than just a shelter; it’s a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable canines. Kelly alongside her partner in rescue, Tristan, has dedicated her life to providing refuge for dogs that have endured the worst of humanity.
From the streets of Houston to the rural outskirts, they’ve encountered dogs in the most heartbreaking conditions – burned, abandoned, and broken. Yet, at Kelaroo’s Ruff Ranch, these dogs find more than just shelter; they find a family. Facing the harsh realities of dog overpopulation and cruelty, Kelly and Tristan have invested everything into their mission. Their mid-50s brought not a mortgage payoff or a retirement plan, but a bold decision to takeout a huge mortgage to secure 15 beautiful acres and create a true sanctuary for dogs in need It’s a dream realized for the dogs they save – a place to run, play, and recover, surrounded by love and care.
